Director and Chair
Peter has over 30 years’ experience in the Technology, Telecommunications and Media Industries, and has extensive expertise as Chair, Non-Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer across a range of ASX-listed and private companies.
He is currently the Chair of Macquarie Telecom Ltd and until recently was non-Executive Director of iiNet Ltd. He is also Chair of a range of emerging digital media and technology businesses in Australia and the US. He has over 16 years experience in CEO roles including ASX-listed media and communications company Adcorp Australia Ltd, Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd, and Computer Power Group Ltd. Based in Sydney, Peter travels extensively reviewing innovation and consumer trends primarily in the US and Asia.
He is a successful investor in a number of early-stage Digital Media and Technology businesses in Australia and the US. This included the leading Australian group buying site JumpOnIt which was sold to US-based LivingSocial in 2012. He also has a particular interest in building high performance, customer-focused teams and is one of the judges for the annual Aon Hewitt Best Employers program in Australia and New Zealand.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Member of the Australian Computer Society and holds a BA Degree with Majors in Computer Science and Business.
Director & Board Member
Based in Sydney, Rob is a highly accomplished Director with experience ranging across listed, private and not for profit enterprises, including with a number of technology and media companies.
He has extensive digital media expertise with strong capabilities in the implementation of technology-oriented growth strategies, most recently in programmatic advertising and online marketplaces. He also brings to Snakk specific M&A skills, having participated in over forty corporate transactions as either principal or advisor. Currently Rob provides corporate advisory services with Venture Advisory, a specialist technology and media advisory firm operating in Australia and Asia. He is also a General Partner in 3eep Ventures, a boutique digital media incubator and investment fund.
Previous corporate experience has included senior executive roles with Fairfax, Coca-Cola and Booz & Co. Rob has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Elect) from the University of Western Australia, an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management at UNSW, and has completed additional postgraduate studies in the USA at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
Director & Board Member
Brent King is a highly experienced Non-Executive Director based in Auckland. He is currently the Managing Director of Investment Research Group Ltd, Equity Investment Advisors, and King Capital Investment Corp Ltd.
Previous positions include Managing Director CEO of Dorchester Pacific, Director of Charlie’s Group Limited, Director of 42 Below Limited, and Director of NZ Cricket.
Brent brings deep financial advisory experience to Snakk. He has been involved in more than 100 prospectus, various capital raisings, sales of entities including Charlie’s beverage group to Asahi and 42 Below Limited to Barcardi, listing and de-listing of companies on the NZX, and has current experience working in Southeast Asia. He has extensive experience in regulatory matters associated with the NZX, is an NXT advisor, and is a Chartered Accountant.
With a multi-sector, multi-discipline career spanning more than 30 years, Joel brings an impressive track record to the role of CEO.
Prior to joining Snakk Media as COO in August 2016, Joel held a variety of leadership roles – including COO, CFO, CIO, and CRO – with a range of a blue chip organisations including News Corp, Fairfax Media, David Jones, NAB, Australian Pharmaceutical Industries, Pioneer International (building materials), and PriceWaterhouseCoopers as well as experience in a small technology based start-up company. Throughout his career Joel has gained extensive experience in using technology as an enabler to deliver business value.
Each of these roles enabled Joel to build up a comprehensive set of leadership capabilities in the areas of strategy development and execution, business re-engineering, strategic and operational risk management and the leadership and governance of transformation initiatives in sectors undergoing major structural change.
Joel has a Master of Economics and Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University, a Post Graduate Certificate in Marketing (MGSM) and is a Chartered Accountant ANZ.
Chief Commercial Officer
With over 24 years of media experience, Sam is a highly respected media thoroughbred with a proven track record leading high-performance sales teams across APAC.
Having held a variety of senior leadership roles at News Corp, Hardie Grant/Jetstar and Fairfax Media with an unblemished history of success.
Sam brings to the team a passion for cutting-edge technology and an unrivaled media pedigree.
CHIEF DIGITAL OFFICER
Jeremy started his media career in Ad Ops. After heading up various teams and gaining extensive experience in the programmatic space he moved into Operations and Integrations roles and worked on rolling out new tech platforms in the Australian and New Zealand marketplaces. This involved working heavily with industry leading publishers and tech teams on both publisher and vendor sides.
Since Joining Snakk as their CDO, he has lead the push of Snakk's diversification of its product set and establishing the data products and services. He has a deep passion and understanding of the technology used in the mobile environment, commercial and operating models, and data driven mobile solutions.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
With a CPA accreditation and plenty of experience under his belt, Russell heads up the finance department here at Snakk Media. Before joining us from Principals in 2018, he worked for companies in industries as broad as defence, lottery, shipping and finance – eventually finding his home in the media and comms space including a 4 year stint at Innocean. And with a knack for management reporting, as well as explaining a company’s finances in easy-to-understand language, he makes sure even the most creative types in the office can get their heads around the facts and figures.
